Is one of the Show’s most popular events, superbly trained dogs race through an obstacle course of jumps, collapsed tunnels, poles and ramps as they earn championship points.
Dogs hurdle to retrieve tennis balls, then speed back to the finish line. Noisy excitement abounds in this fast-paced sprint for first place.
Dogs respond to their handlers’ commands to “come,” “sit” and “stay,” basic training for more demanding events such as agility and musical freestyle.
The heart and soul of any dog show, this very traditional competition among more than 150 breeds is based on how well a dog adheres to physical standards set by the American Kennel Club. The top dog wins “Best in Show.”
Created to expose youngsters from 9 to 18 years old to the wonderful world of dog shows, these special contests judge the handler, not the dog.

The Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows features a variety of demonstrations for the public to see including the weight pull competition, Canine Frisbee (sm), Musical Freestyle, and the Purina Pro Plan Team Performance. Watch as dogs pull more than 10 times their own weight across a mat to see who is the strongest, or watch dogs perform to music as they do routines with Frisbees or with their human partners, and the Purina Team perform tricks with their trainers!
Weight Pull Competition
Some of these working dogs can pull close to a ton. Come see them show their strength and ability in moving incredible amounts of weight. Not to be missed!
All the dogs in this competition are hot dogs, showing off their strength and acrobatic skills as they catch the famous flying disc. A show stopper!
These meticulously trained canines keep perfectly in step with their festively costumed owners as they dance to music. You’ll enjoy this charming display of discipline and affection.
Purina Pro Plan Team Performance
The canine team members astound crowds with advanced feats of athleticism that include vaulting off a trainer’s back to snag a flying disc in mid-air, catching multiple long-distance flying disc throws in a row and performing acrobatic and balancing acts like flipping and weaving backwards through the trainers’ legs. All set to music, the Shows are fun for all ages, and they are
also educational as the trainers emphasize the importance of responsible pet ownership by providing helpful tips for having a well-balanced, healthy and loving relationship with a pet.
